Homemade Snack Mix

One thing I find disappointing at my neighborhood grocery store is the lack of options for trail mix or snack mix. It always seems to be raisins, almonds, and M&M’s – which isn’t horrible but I want something more exciting. Armed with a craving for a delicious snack mix I decided to make one myself.

I chose to toss in some of the things I thought would go well together and also finished it off with a smoky and slightly sweet glaze. I kind of eyeballed the measurements for everything based on what I thought looked right and adjusted my glazed ratio based on other variations I found online. I baked the mix for twenty minutes to allow for the glaze to set and then fully cooled. This made everything get a little crunchier which I really liked.

Overall, I am really happy with how my snack mix turned out! I will definitely be making more varieties in the future and look forward to incorporating different crunchy items. I am thinking I might try tossing in goldfish and maybe during the summer I will try one that has granola and freeze dried fruits in it? We shall see!
